Indian Railways Announces Temporary Closure of Delhi Passenger Reservation System
In a recent announcement, the Northern Railway has informed the public about the temporary closure of Delhi P.R.S. (Passenger Reservation System) services during the intervening night of 18/19 June 2023. The closure is scheduled to take place from 11:45 pm on 18 June 2023 to 03:15 am on 19 June 2023, lasting approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes.
The closure is attributed to the ongoing static and dynamic database compression activity being carried out by the railway authorities. As a result, all services associated with Delhi P.R.S., including reservation, cancellation, charting, PRS enquiry (both at counters and through the helpline number 139), internet booking, and EDR services, will be temporarily unavailable during the specified time period.
Passengers are advised to take note of this closure and plan their travel accordingly. It is recommended to complete any necessary reservations, cancellations, or inquiries in advance or after the scheduled closure to avoid any inconvenience.
The Northern Railway assures the public that these temporary measures are being taken to optimize and improve the efficiency of the reservation system. Normal services are expected to resume promptly after the completion of the database compression activity.
Stay tuned for further updates on this temporary closure and its impact on railway services in Delhi.
