India Secures Hosting Rights for the 17th International Congress on the Chemistry of Cement (ICCC)

New Delhi, India – India has achieved a remarkable feat by winning the bid to host the prestigious 17th International Congress on the Chemistry of Cement (ICCC) in 2027. This significant announcement was made during the ongoing 16th ICCC in Bangkok, Thailand, on September 20, 2023.

The successful bid presentation was led by India’s esteemed research and academic institutions, the National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCCBM), in collaboration with IIT Delhi. Dr. L P Singh, Director General of NCCBM, Dr. S K Chaturvedi, Joint Director of NCCBM, and Dr. Shashank Bishnoi, Professor of Civil Engineering at IIT Delhi, presented India’s bid before the Steering Committee members of the Conference. Notably, India faced competition from Switzerland and the UAE during the bidding process.

The International Congress on the Chemistry of Cement is renowned as the largest and most prestigious gathering in its field. It serves as a platform to review the latest advancements in cement and concrete research. These congresses have been held at intervals of four to six years since 1918, fostering a strong link between academia and the cement industry. India previously hosted the 9th Congress in New Delhi in 1992.

Hosting the 17th ICCC in India presents a unique opportunity to bring together global leaders, experts, and innovators from the cement sector.
