DFRC Rules in Favor of Jaipuria School, Parents Withdraw Writ from High Court

In a significant development amid widespread parental protests over fee hikes, the District Fee Regulatory Committee (DFRC) has ruled in favor of Seth Anandram Jaipuria School in Ghaziabad. Dissatisfied with the fee structure, a group of parents had approached the High Court, but later withdrew their writ petition following the DFRC’s decision.
The DFRC, which holds the authority to regulate school fees, reviewed all submitted documents before concluding that Jaipuria School is charging fees in compliance with the UP Fee Regulation Act. The committee found no violations, stating the school’s fee practices are within legal bounds.
In a press release, the school management clarified that no illegal fee hike was implemented. They stated that while initially 172 parents opposed the hike, the number has now reduced to 105. Since the 2019-20 session, nearly 4,000 students have been admitted under the revised fee structure, all approved under Section 4(2) of the 2018 Act.
The school also expressed willingness to assist financially struggling parents, suggesting that discussions and cooperation are more productive than protests.
