Nandura Station in Bhusawal Division Celebrates Successful Completion of Line Extension
In a significant stride towards enhancing railway infrastructure and improving the efficiency of train services, the NANDURA station, situated in the Bhusawal Division, marked a milestone achievement. The much-anticipated Down Mainline & Down Loop line extension project at the station was successfully completed on September 19, 2023, bolstering the station’s capabilities and expanding its reach.
The extension work saw the length of the station grow from its existing 702 meters to an impressive 753 meters, a development set to have a substantial impact on railway operations in the region.
One of the most noteworthy aspects of this project is the incorporation of advanced technology for enhanced safety and reliability. All four berthing tracks have been equipped with Digital Axle Counters, employing a dual detection system for train coaches. This cutting-edge addition will provide a higher level of safety assurance for passengers and freight transportation.
Furthermore, the project included the installation of Thickweb switches at all main line turnouts. These switches are designed to significantly improve track maintenance and contribute to the overall speed and efficiency of train services passing through NANDURA.
The extension of these lines signifies a major boost in train mobility for this section, accommodating full-length mail express and goods trains with ease. Commuters and businesses alike can expect improved transportation services in the area, thanks to this infrastructure enhancement.
The Central Railway (CR) remains dedicated to gradually improving its infrastructure to facilitate better mobility and speed for trains. The successful completion of the NANDURA station’s extension project is a testament to this commitment, promising a brighter and more efficient future for railway transportation in the region.
