ECoR Nears Completion of Khurda Road-Balangir Rail Line Project; CRS Inspects Nuagaon Road-Dasapalla Section
Commissioner Railway Safety (CRS) Successfully Conducts Safety Inspection of 15.445 km Rail Line; Additional 84 km Targeted for 2023-24 Completion
The ongoing Khurda Road-Balangir Rail Line project by East Coast Railway (ECoR) is making significant strides in enhancing regional infrastructure and connectivity.
Details: ECoR achieved a crucial milestone with the successful inspection of the Nuagaon Road-Dasapalla Railway Section (15.445 km) by Commissioner Railway Safety (CRS), A. M. Chowdhary. The thorough inspection covered critical safety aspects, including overhead equipment, bridges, signals, and telecommunication equipment, ensuring readiness for commissioning upon CRS clearance.
Project Progress: Out of the 301 km length of the Khurda Road-Balangir Rail Line project, construction for a total stretch of 142.505 km has been completed. This includes 105.875 km from Khurda Road to Dasapalla and 36.700 km from Balangir to Khambeswarapalli.
Future Expansion: ECoR is determined to further extend the rail line, with plans to complete an additional 84 km from Khambeswarapalli to Purunakatak during the fiscal year 2023-24.
Impact: The completion of the Khurda Road-Balangir Rail Line project is expected to bring significant economic benefits to the region and enhance communication links. It will foster socio-cultural connections between Western Odisha and Coastal Odisha while also promoting tourism opportunities.
Government Support: The project has received consistent review and support from the Hon’ble Minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, General Manager Manoj Sharma has emphasized the need for expediting project works and coordinating with stakeholders, including state government officials, to ensure a swift and successful completion of the rail line.
The successful inspection of the Nuagaon Road-Dasapalla section marks a major step forward in ECoR’s commitment towards infrastructure development, bringing improved connectivity and progress to the region.
