Officers Training Academy, Gaya Holds its 23rd Passing Out Parade
The Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Gaya witnessed a magnificent display of military tradition and excellence as it celebrated its 23rd Passing Out Parade. The parade marked the culmination of rigorous training for 82 officers of the Technical Entry Scheme (TES)-41, including eight officers from Friendly Foreign Countries, and eight officers of the Special Commissioned Officers Course (SCO)-50. Additionally, 68 Gentleman Cadets of TES-47 Course, who will pursue engineering degrees at prestigious Army Cadet Training Wings, also participated in the event, showcasing their impeccable turnout and synchronized drill movements.
Lieutenant General Ajai Kumar Singh, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, graced the occasion as the Reviewing Officer. The esteemed Sword of Honour, recognizing the best All Round Gentleman Cadet of the Technical Entry Scheme Course, was awarded to Gentleman Cadet Jatin Sharma. Furthermore, Cadet Sharma received the Gold Medal for securing the top position in the Order of Merit. The coveted Chief of Army Staff Banner for Spring Term 2023, honoring the best overall performance as a company, was awarded to Rezangla Company.
During his address to the parade, Lieutenant General Ajai Kumar Singh congratulated the Gentleman Cadets for their exceptional drill and emphasized the importance of selfless, dedicated, and professional service to make the nation and the Alma Mater proud. He urged the future officers to become scholar warriors, equipped with innovative strategies to outperform adversaries on the battlefield. Lieutenant General Singh also stressed the need for adapting to rapidly changing combat dynamics by enhancing technical prowess.
Expressing his congratulations to the proud parents in attendance, Lieutenant General Ajai Kumar Singh highlighted the honor and privilege of their sons serving in the Armed Forces, which are regarded among the best in the world. The Officers Training Academy has been providing high-quality military training to Gentleman Cadets from Friendly Foreign Countries like Bhutan and Vietnam, fostering camaraderie and goodwill between nations.
Established on July 18, 2011, with the motto of ‘Shaurya Gyan Sankalp’ (Courage, Knowledge, and Resolve), the Officers Training Academy, Gaya offers training for candidates in the Technical Entry Scheme (TES) and Special Commissioned Officers (SCO) entries. Gentleman Cadets of the TES course join the academy after completing their 10+2 exams with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as their subjects and qualifying in JEE (Mains). SCO Gentleman Cadets are selected from the ranks of the Indian Army, adding to the academy’s prestigious heritage.
