Heavy rainfall is predicted at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh on the 16th, 19th, and 20th of May. Similarly, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are likely to receive heavy rainfall during the same period. Assam and Meghalaya should also prepare for isolated very heavy falls on the 16th, 18th, and 19th of May.
Moving towards Northwest India, the IMD has issued a warning for duststorms and dust-raising winds in isolated pockets over Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan from the 16th to the 18th of May. These weather conditions may cause reduced visibility and inconvenience in affected areas.
In Central India, isolated pockets of Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha are likely to experience dust-raising winds on the 16th and 17th of May. Residents in these regions should be cautious and take necessary precautions.
The rest of the country is expected to witness no significant weather changes during this period.
Additionally, the IMD has forecasted a rise in maximum temperatures by 2-3°C over many parts of Northwest and Central India starting from the 18th of May. The rest of India will experience no significant changes in maximum temperatures.
Heat wave conditions have been predicted in isolated pockets of Coastal Andhra Pradesh on the 16th of May, followed by heat wave conditions on the 17th of May. Odisha, coastal West Bengal, Rayalaseema, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Konkan are likely to experience hot and discomforting weather due to humid air and high temperatures from the 16th to the 20th of May.
The IMD advises residents in the affected regions to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, and take necessary measures to beat the heat.
