Rail ministry allows private guards in uniform to travel by special suburban services in Mumbai
On the request of Govt of Maharashtra, permission has been granted by Ministry of Railways, Government of India to Private Guards travelling with uniform for travel by special suburban services over Mumbai Suburban network.
They are requested to obtain QR code from State Government of Maharashtra at the earliest. Until such time, uniform with valid identity cards are authority for entry at the stations. Additional booking counters will be opened at important railway stations for the passengers.
Appeal by Railways
Except for categories as identified by the State Government and all ladies ( Between 11 am to 3 pm and after 7 pm), others are requested not to rush to the stations.
It is also requested that travellers should follow medical and social protocols as mandated for COVID19.
