Rail Traffic Block to Disrupt Services on Ghaziabad–Meerut–Saharanpur Route
Railway services on the Ghaziabad–Meerut City–Saharanpur Junction section are set to face temporary diversions and regulation due to scheduled traffic blocks on the Up and Down lines. According to the railway authorities, a four-hour traffic block each on the Up and Down lines has been planned over the Delhi Division.
The traffic restrictions will affect several passenger services on specific dates in September. Railways has announced diversions for two express trains, while two other services will be regulated en route to facilitate the traffic block and associated operational work.
Haridwar–Delhi Express to Run on Diverted Route
Train No. 14304 Haridwar–Delhi Express will be diverted on September 8 and September 24, 2026. Instead of following its usual route through the Ghaziabad–Meerut–Saharanpur section, the train will operate via Tapri–Shamli–Delhi Shahdara–Delhi Junction.
As a result of the diversion, the train will skip 13 scheduled stations. These include Nagangal, Deoband, Muzaffarnagar, Mansurpur, Khatauli, Daurala, Meerut Cantt, Meerut City, Modinagar, Muradnagar, Naya Ghaziabad, Ghaziabad and Sahibabad.
Passengers travelling to or from these stations on the affected dates will therefore need to make alternative travel arrangements or check with the Railways for connecting services.
Kalka–Delhi Express Also Diverted
Another important service, Train No. 14332 Kalka–Delhi Express, will also operate on a diverted route on September 8 and September 24, 2026.
The train will run via Tapri–Shamli–Delhi Shahdara–Delhi Junction. The diversion will result in the skipping of 16 stations on its regular route.
The stations that will not be served by the train are Nagangal, Deoband, Muzaffarnagar, Mansurpur, Khatauli, Sakoti Tanda, Daurala, Meerut Cantt, Meerut City, Partapur, Modinagar, Muradnagar, Guldhar, Naya Ghaziabad, Ghaziabad and Sahibabad.
The diversion is expected to alter the normal travel pattern for passengers using the Meerut, Ghaziabad and adjoining stations on the affected dates.
Delhi–Ambala Cantt Express to Be Regulated
Railways has also announced regulation of Train No. 14521 Delhi–Ambala Cantt Express on September 8 and September 24.
The train will be regulated for approximately 60 minutes en route between Guldhar and Partapur. Passengers travelling on this service may therefore experience additional journey time due to the scheduled traffic block.
Kalinga Utkal Express to Face 50-Minute Regulation
Train No. 18477 Puri–Yog Nagari Rishikesh Kalinga Utkal Express will also be regulated because of the operational restrictions.
The train will be regulated for approximately 50 minutes between Guldhar and Partapur. The regulation is scheduled for September 6 and September 22, 2026.
Passengers Advised to Plan Travel Accordingly
The temporary changes are part of railway traffic management arrangements necessitated by the four-hour blocks on both the Up and Down lines of the Ghaziabad–Meerut City–Saharanpur Junction section.
Railway passengers travelling on the affected trains and dates are advised to check their train’s latest running status, route and stoppages before commencing their journey. Those boarding or alighting at stations that will be skipped by the diverted services should make alternative arrangements in advance.
The diversions and regulations are temporary and apply only to the specific trains and dates announced by the Railways.
