Trains Diverted Due to Traffic and Power Block on Lucknow–Varanasi Section

Several trains have been diverted due to a major traffic and power block undertaken for the pushing of an RCC Box Bridge (No. 686) between Mohanlalganj and Kankaha–Nigohan stations on the Lucknow–Varanasi rail section. The block is scheduled from 10:15 AM to 6:15 PM on June 20, 2026, affecting UP and DN rail traffic.
According to railway authorities, the following trains have been diverted:
- Train No. 04312 Yog Nagari Rishikesh–Kolkata Terminal Special (Journey Commencing June 19, 2026)
- Train No. 24204 Lucknow Junction–Varanasi Express (Journey Commencing June 20, 2026)
Both services have been rerouted via Lucknow Junction – Utraitia – Sultanpur – Maa Belha Devi Dham Pratapgarh Junction instead of their usual route through Lucknow Junction – Utraitia – Rae Bareli Junction – Maa Belha Devi Dham Pratapgarh Junction.
As a result of the diversion, the trains will skip stoppages at Bachhrawan, Harchandpur, Rae Bareli Junction, Gauriganj, and Amethi stations.
Railway officials have advised passengers to check the latest train schedules and running status before commencing their journey. The temporary diversion has been implemented to facilitate infrastructure work aimed at improving railway operations and safety on the section.
