Western Railway Announces Major Night Blocks on March 14/15

Jumbo block Borivali-Bhayandar + full Prabhadevi ROB girder de-launching to disrupt suburban & long-distance trains

Western Railway has announced a jumbo block and a major block on its suburban sections in Mumbai during the intervening night of March 14/15, 2026 (Saturday/Sunday), to facilitate essential operational and infrastructure works.

The blocks are as follows:

  • A jumbo block on the UP and DOWN fast lines between Borivali and Bhayandar from 00:15 hrs to 03:45 hrs.
  • A major block on all lines at Prabhadevi station from 01:30 hrs to 06:00 hrs, for the de-launching of the girder of the Prabhadevi Road Over Bridge (ROB).

Impact on Suburban Services

  • During the Borivali–Bhayandar block, all fast line trains will operate on the slow lines between Virar/Vasai Road and Borivali.
  • At Prabhadevi, several suburban services will face cancellations, short terminations, reversals from Dadar and Bandra, and complete suspension of services between Churchgate and Prabhadevi. No suburban trains will run at Matunga Road and Mahim stations during the block period.

Western Railway has assured that there will be no block in daytime over the Western Railway suburban section on Sunday, March 15, 2026.

Impact on Mail/Express Trains

Several long-distance trains will face regulation (delays) or rescheduling due to the blocks, primarily between Surat and Virar:

  1. Train No. 09184 Varanasi – Mumbai Central (journey commencing March 13, 2026) — regulated by 2 hours.
  2. Train No. 22946 Okha – Mumbai Central (journey commencing March 14, 2026) — regulated by 1 hour 45 minutes.
  3. Train No. 12928 Ekta Nagar – Dadar (journey commencing March 14, 2026) — regulated by 1 hour.
  4. Train No. 12902 Ahmedabad – Dadar (journey commencing March 14, 2026) — regulated by 1 hour.
  5. Train No. 09052 Bhusaval – Dadar (journey commencing March 14, 2026) — regulated by 45 minutes.
  6. Train No. 22953 Mumbai Central – Ahmedabad (departing Mumbai Central at 05:40 hrs) — will depart at 06:10 hrs (rescheduled by 30 minutes) for journey commencing March 15, 2026.

Commuters and passengers are advised to check with official sources, such as station announcements, the Western Railway website, or NTES app, for real-time updates and to plan their travel accordingly to minimize inconvenience during these essential maintenance works.
