Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the 15th Uttarakhand Mahakauthig organised by the Parvatiya Sanskritik Sanstha in Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida), Uttar Pradesh, where a large number of migrant Uttarakhandis, artists, youth and women participated. The Chief Minister interacted with performers, encouraged artists and praised the organisers for promoting Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage.

CM Dhami said that Uttarakhandis living in the National Capital Region have played a commendable role in keeping the state’s folk culture, traditions and identity alive, calling them true brand ambassadors of the state. He noted that Mahakauthig, being organised continuously for the past 15 years, has become a strong platform for showcasing folk art, folk music, traditional heritage and hill products, while also connecting migrant communities with their roots.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the event vividly reflects Uttarakhand’s living culture through traditional attire, handicrafts, organic products, hill cuisine, folk songs like Jagar, Beda, Mangal and Khuded, and folk dances such as Chholiya, Pandav and Jhora-Chhapeli. He said the extension of the festival from five to seven days reflects its growing popularity.

CM Dhami also spoke about the state government’s commitment to promoting local products through initiatives like ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘House of Himalayas’, strengthening infrastructure through major projects, and safeguarding Uttarakhand’s cultural identity and demography. He reiterated that the government remains firmly committed to holistic development while preserving the sanctity and heritage of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.
