Goa Shipyard Hands Over ICGS Ankusya – Third of Eight Fast Patrol Vessels to Indian Coast Guard

Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) today commissioned and handed over ICGS Ankusya (Yard 1272), the third in a series of eight indigenously designed and built Fast Patrol Vessels (FPVs), to the Indian Coast Guard in a ceremony at Goa.

Equipped with state-of-the-art navigation, communication, and weapon systems, the 50-metre, 320-tonne vessel is capable of speeds exceeding 34 knots and is designed for coastal surveillance, anti-smuggling operations, search & rescue, and maritime law enforcement.

The project, fully executed under “Make in India”, highlights GSL’s growing expertise in high-speed patrol craft. Five more vessels in the series are at advanced stages of construction and will be delivered progressively by 2026.

With ICGS Ankusya now operational, the Coast Guard strengthens its rapid-response capability along India’s 7,516-km coastline.
