IREE 2025: Asia’s Largest Railway Exhibition Drives Modernization in Delhi
CII and Indian Railways Unite for Sustainable Innovations and Global Collaboration, October 15-17 at Bharat Mandapam

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in collaboration with Indian Railways, is gearing up to host the 16th edition of the International Railway Equipment Exhibition (IREE) 2025, billed as Asia’s premier showcase for railway innovations, from October 15 to 17 at Bharat Mandapam here.
Announced at a press conference today, the event will spotlight key themes of modernization, sustainability, and smart mobility, featuring participation from leading Indian and global companies alongside Indian Railways. It promises to be a pivotal platform for fostering connections between railway stakeholders and equipment manufacturers worldwide.
B. Thiagarajan, Chairman of CII Trade Fairs Council, emphasized the exhibition’s significance, stating, “IREE 2025 is a platform that provides a connect between Indian Railways and equipment manufacturers from across the world. This year’s edition is a defining moment as Indian Railways looks to transform India as a global benchmark for modernisation, sustainability and smart mobility.”
Echoing the spirit of self-reliance, Narayan Sethuramon, Managing Director of Sanmar Matrix Metals Ltd, noted, “Indian Railways is what Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat are all about; it has helped an entire ecosystem develop itself supported through rapid growth in recent years and today we are future-ready to design, develop, manufacture and supply to the world.”
Puneet Kaura, Managing Director of Samtel Avionics Ltd, highlighted the collaborative momentum, saying, “IREE 2025 is a collaboration between the industry and the government. The event is a testament that we are a country who are on the move – the commitment towards modernisation of our infrastructure in the Railway segment is creating the excitement.”
Sitaram Sinku, Additional Member (PU), Ministry of Railways, outlined the transformative initiatives underway, adding, “Indian Railways is modernising its fleet, rolling stock, key stations, signals & telecommunications and nationwide station infrastructure, developing world-class viaducts and Gati Shakti Freight corridors – all this while leading Railway transportation through a transformational and sustainable transition. This is being achieved through large-scale electrification and advanced green technologies. The innovations showcased at IREE 2025 show that Rail can drive economic growth while moving us closer to becoming a Net Zero Carbon Emitter by 2030.”
The three-day extravaganza will convene senior officials from the Ministry of Railways, top private-sector industrialists, railway experts, and media representatives to deliberate on cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and eco-friendly solutions. It also aims to boost MSME involvement and highlight India’s manufacturing prowess under the Make in India banner, positioning the country as a global leader in sustainable rail transport.
