IRCTC Promoted to ‘Schedule A’ CPSE by Government of India

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), a prominent Mini-Ratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, celebrates a significant milestone in its 25th year of operation as it is elevated to the prestigious ‘Schedule A’ category of Central Public Sector Enterprises by the Government of India.

In an official memorandum issued today, the Ministry of Railways announced IRCTC’s transition from ‘Schedule B’ to ‘Schedule A’, recognizing its outstanding performance and contribution to the hospitality, travel, and tourism sectors within the Ministry of Railways.

Sanjay Kumar Jain, Chairman & Managing Director of IRCTC, expressed his elation, stating, “IRCTC’s promotion to ‘Schedule A’ status is a momentous achievement that underscores our robust performance and operational excellence. This recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone associated with IRCTC over the past 25 years.”

He further added, “We are deeply thankful to the Union Minister of Railways, Union Minister of Finance & Corporate Affairs, Union Ministers of State for Railways, and other senior officials for their unwavering support and invaluable guidance.”

IRCTC has demonstrated remarkable financial performance, achieving a total income of ₹1954.48 crores, ₹3661.90 crores, and ₹4434.66 crores for the fiscal years 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24, respectively, marking a CAGR of 50.63% between FY 2022 and FY 2024. The profit after tax stood at ₹659.55 crores, ₹1005.88 crores, and ₹1111.26 crores for the same periods, reflecting a CAGR of 29.80%. The company declared dividends of ₹280 crores, ₹440 crores, and ₹520 crores for 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24, respectively.

IRCTC’s elevation to ‘Schedule A’ status further solidifies its position as a key player driving India’s growth story with its resilient business model and unwavering commitment to excellence in service delivery.
