Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Inaugurates Nuagaon Road – Daspalla Railway Section and Expands Train Services to Daspalla
In a momentous occasion, the Minister of Railways, Communications, and Electronics & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, inaugurated the newly constructed Nuagaon Road – Daspall Railway section, along with the Daspalla Railway station building. The event was marked by the flagging off of passenger train services to Daspalla, witnessed by an enthusiastic gathering of approximately 8,000 people at Daspalla railway station.
Following the inauguration, services of four passenger trains, namely 18423/18424 Bhubaneswar-Nayagarh Town-Bhubaneswar Express, 08429/08430 Bhubaneswar-Nuagaon Road-Bhubaneswar Passenger Special, 08423/08424 Puri-Nuagaon Road-Puri Passenger Special, and 08555/08556 Bhadrak-Nayagarh Town-Bhadrak MEMU, were extended to Daspalla, enhancing connectivity for the local residents.
During his visit to Daspalla, Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw received warm greetings from more than 300 people at Sanapadar, expressing gratitude for the sanctioned Passenger Halt. In Nayagarh Town and Mahipur station, a gathering of about 500 people felicitated the Railway Minister, thanking him for expediting the long-standing Khurda-Balangir rail line project.
Minister Vaishnaw announced that the Gopalpur-Rairakhol new rail line would be reviewed to include Phulbani, the District Headquarters of Kandhamal district, in the railway map. He further added that the feasibility of connecting Kantilo and Khandapada with the Khurda-Balangir rail line project would be explored, showcasing the commitment to expanding railway connectivity in the region.
Prior to visiting Daspalla, Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inspected the Bhubaneswar railway station. He reviewed the ongoing station redevelopment works and directed officials to expedite construction activities, aiming to complete the project ahead of schedule. The minister’s comprehensive visit underscored the government’s dedication to enhancing railway infrastructure and connectivity in the region, bringing about positive transformations for commuters and contributing to regional development.
