In a spirited address at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ with a vibrant celebration, highlighting the indomitable courage of the Sahibzadas and their enduring impact on the nation. The event witnessed a recital and martial arts displays by children, symbolizing a new chapter of courage unfolding in the Azadi Ka Amrit Kaal.

Prime Minister Modi emphasized that ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ epitomizes an unwavering resolve to safeguard Bhartiyata, showcasing the spirit of fearlessness in the face of challenges. Reflecting on the celebration’s significance, he stated, “This day reminds us that age does not matter when it comes to heights of bravery.” The event pays homage to the heritage of the Sikh Gurus, particularly Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his four Veer Sahibzades, whose courage continues to inspire every Indian.

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction that ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ is now being celebrated internationally, with programs in the USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, UAE, and Greece. He recalled historical battles like Chamkaur and Sirhind, emphasizing how Indians faced cruelty with dignity during those challenging times.

Highlighting the transformation in India’s global perception, PM Modi noted, “Today when we are taking pride in our heritage, the world’s viewpoint has also changed.” He commended the shift in India’s mindset, shedding the mentality of slavery and gaining confidence in the nation’s capabilities, inspirations, and its people.

“The sacrifice of Sahibzadas is a matter of inspiration for today’s India,” he declared. The Prime Minister reiterated India’s role as a land of opportunities, playing a crucial role in global issues related to the economy, science, research, sports, and diplomacy.

As he stressed, “This is India’s time, the next 25 years will showcase India’s capabilities.” PM Modi highlighted the need to follow the Panch Pran (Five Principles) and make every moment count. He envisioned a period of significant opportunities for India’s youth in the next 25 years, backed by a clear roadmap and vision from the government.

PM Modi applauded the success of Indian athletes, attributing it to initiatives like the Khelo India campaign, which prioritizes the welfare of youth by providing better sports facilities and transparent selection processes. He outlined the dream of becoming the third-largest economy, emphasizing its implications for youth in terms of health, education, opportunities, jobs, and overall quality of life.

Encouraging youth to register on the MY-Bharat portal, PM Modi invited them to be part of the nationwide campaign linking youth with the dreams and resolutions of Viksit Bharat. He urged young individuals to prioritize health, emphasizing the challenges of physical exercise, digital detox, mental fitness, and a balanced diet.

Addressing the issue of drugs in society, PM Modi called for collective efforts from the nation, society, and religious leaders to combat the menace. He concluded by highlighting the teachings of ‘Sabka Prayas,’ emphasizing that these teachings from our Gurus will lead India to become a developed nation.
