Surprise Twist in Rajasthan Politics: First-time BJP MLA Bhajan Lal Sharma Named Chief Minister

Union Minister Rajnath Singh Unveils Leadership Team, Including Deputy CMs and Assembly Speaker

In a surprising political development, first-time Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Bhajan Lal Sharma has been announced as the new Chief Minister of Rajasthan. The decision was revealed following the legislature party meeting of the Rajasthan BJP, chaired by former CM Vasundhara Raje and endorsed unanimously.

Union Minister Rajnath Singh, acting as the BJP observer, made the official announcement during a press conference in Jaipur. Alongside Sharma, Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa were named as Deputy Chief Ministers, while MLA Vasudev Devnani will assume the role of the Speaker in the Rajasthan Assembly.

Bhajan Lal Sharma, who secured victory in the recent Sanganer assembly seat elections, defeating Congress’s Pushpendra Bhardwaj by over 48,081 votes, expressed gratitude towards prominent party leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

Addressing the media for the first time after being selected as Rajasthan’s CM, Sharma pledged to meet the expectations of the people and ensure holistic development under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.

Sharma’s appointment comes after intense speculation, with notable contenders such as Gajendra Shekhawat, Mahant Balaknath, Diya Kumari, Anita Bhadel, Manju Baghmar, and Arjun Ram Meghwal in the race for the CM post.

Rajasthan BJP Chief CP Joshi expressed confidence in Sharma’s leadership, anticipating that the state would reach new heights of development. The announcement was deemed surprising, akin to political shifts in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, as stated by BJP leader Dr. Kirodilal.

Celebrations erupted among BJP workers in Ajmer as Vasudev Devnani was elected as the Speaker of the Rajasthan Assembly, marked by the bursting of crackers and the distribution of sweets.
