India Meteorological Department Issues Rainfall and Weather Alerts
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a fresh spell of rainfall over South Peninsular India starting from December 16th. In the past 24 hours, minimum temperatures ranging from 6-10°C were observed over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, North Rajasthan, and North Uttar Pradesh.

- A cyclonic circulation over Southeast Arabian Sea in lower tropospheric levels.
- A Western Disturbance manifested as a cyclonic circulation over Northwest Uttar Pradesh in lower tropospheric levels.
Rainfall Warnings:
- Arunachal Pradesh: Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms likely on 12th & 13th.
- Assam & Meghalaya: Similar conditions expected on 13th December.
- Kerala & Mahe: Anticipated rainfall with isolated thunderstorms on 12th & 16th.
- Lakshadweep: Rainfall on 12th; heavy rainfall expected on 12th & 16th.
- Tamil Nadu: Rainfall forecasted on 16th December.
Hailstorm and Dense Fog Warnings:
- Sikkim: Hailstorm likely on 12th.
- North Punjab, North Haryana, North Uttar Pradesh: Dense fog probable during 13th – 15th.
- Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura: Dense fog forecasted on 13th & 14th.
