Central Railway Achieves Record Automobile Transport Figures, Registers 36% YoY Growth
In a commendable achievement, Central Railway transported a staggering 1,01,443 automobiles in the period from April to November 2023, utilizing 708 rakes and generating an impressive revenue of Rs. 120.18 Crores.
This remarkable performance reflects a substantial 36% increase compared to the previous year’s figures. In the corresponding period last year, Central Railway loaded 74,168 cars in 613 rakes, resulting in revenue of Rs. 94.19 Crores.
The division-wise breakdown of automobile transport is as follows:
- Pune Division: Loaded an impressive 79,136 cars using 491 rakes.
- Bhusaval Division: Transported 18,224 cars through 183 rakes.
- Solapur Division: Successfully loaded 2,580 cars in 22 rakes.
- Nagpur Division: Handled the transportation of 1,203 cars across 8 rakes.
- Mumbai Division: Contributed to the overall success by loading 300 cars in 4 rakes.
