Central Railway Achieves Milestones in October ’23 with Major Bridge Renovations
In a noteworthy update, Central Railway (CR) has accomplished significant bridge-related projects throughout October 2023, showcasing a dedication to infrastructure enhancement and passenger safety. The highlights of the accomplished works include:
✅ Replacement of 3 old steel girder bridges with PSC slab ✅ Rehabilitation of 3 arch bridges and 1 slab bridge through grouting and jacketing ✅ Rebuilding of 4 small span bridges using micro tunneling and RCC box pushing techniques ✅ Rehabilitation of 6 RCC Box bridges employing epoxy grouting technique ✅ Completion of permanent bearing inspection for the major Girna bridge at Vaghli-Kajgaon in Bhusaval division ✅ Sandblasting and metalizing of the major Cognee bridge in Shahabad-Wadi in Solapur division ✅ Inspection of 19 major bridges ✅ Completion of greasing and cleaning for 4 bridges ✅ Replacement of 12 MT steel members on track girder bridges ✅ Replacement of 8423 rivets on track girder bridges
With a planned expenditure of 113 Crores for bridge-related projects, Central Railway has already spent 86 Crores to date. The commitment to strengthening all bridges remains a top priority for CR to ensure the smooth and safe operation of trains for passengers.
