Expansion of LTT-Ernakulam Duronto Express: Railways Adds 4 New Coaches
The Indian Railways has announced a significant enhancement to the composition of the 12223/24 LTT-Ernakulam Duronto Express, which will be implemented from March 2, 2024. The train’s number of coaches will be increased from the current 16 to a total of 20 LHB coaches, aimed at accommodating the growing passenger demand and improving travel convenience.
The previous configuration of the LTT-Ernakulam Duronto Express included 16 LHB coaches distributed as follows:
- 1 First AC
- 2 AC 2 Tier
- 6 AC 3 Tier
- 4 Sleeper
- 1 AC Pantry Car
- 1 Guard Brake Van
- 1 Power Car
Under the revised arrangement, the train will boast a total of 20 LHB coaches, offering a more comprehensive travel experience:
- 1 First AC
- 2 AC 2 Tier
- 6 AC 3 Tier
- 8 Sleeper Class
- 1 AC Pantry Car
- 1 Guard Brake Van
- 1 Power Car
This decision is part of the Indian Railways’ ongoing efforts to enhance passenger services, ensure comfort, and meet the travel needs of passengers on popular routes. The extension of coaches will provide travelers with additional options and capacity for a more pleasant journey.
