Daund-Manmad Doubling Project: Enhancing Rail Connectivity and Efficiency
In a significant development, Central Railways (CR) has made substantial progress in the Daund-Manmad Doubling Project, contributing to improved rail connectivity and efficiency.
Key Achievements:
- In the current fiscal year (from April 2023 to date), CR has successfully completed 147.77 km of multi-tracking, which includes new lines, doubling, third and fourth lines.
- A substantial budget of Rs 3,886.95 Crores has been allocated for the fiscal year to support new lines, doubling, third and fourth lines, and gauge conversion projects.
- As of now, an expenditure of Rs 2,983.47 Crores has been incurred, reflecting 76% utilization of the allocated funds.
Daund-Manmad Doubling Details:
- The Daund-Manmad Doubling Project spans a length of 236.61 km.
- An impressive 120.28 km (50.83%) of the doubling work has already been completed, leaving 116.33 km (49.16%) to be finished.
- The estimated cost of this project is Rs 2,081.27 Crores, with an expenditure of Rs 1,572.28 Crores incurred to date.
- The overall physical progress stands at an impressive 65%.

The completion of the Daund-Manmad section doubling work will greatly enhance train mobility, reduce train crossing detention time, and alleviate congestion in the section, ultimately benefiting passengers and the transportation of goods.
