Pune-Miraj Railway Section Sees Milestone Doubling and Expansion
In a significant development, the Pune-Miraj railway section has achieved a remarkable milestone with the doubling of the Nira-Lonand 7.64 km section. This expansion has been successfully completed and commissioned for traffic, marking a crucial step towards improving rail connectivity and transportation.
The newly doubled section underwent a successful speed trial, achieving a speed of 117 kmph. This achievement was closely inspected and certified for track safety by Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) Manoj Arora and Chief Administrative Officer (Construction) Vivek Kumar Gupta.
The Central Railway (CR) has been making significant strides in railway infrastructure development during the current fiscal year, from April 2023 to the present.

The completion of this doubling initiative is expected to greatly enhance train mobility on the busy Pune-Miraj route, reducing congestion and facilitating smoother and more efficient rail travel.
